What The Best Diet?

What’s the best diet?

There isn’t one, it depends.

People are diverse, and so are their individual nutritional needs. Good coaches take a flexible approach. They borrow the best ideas from everywhere, and anyone, and are always looking for new insights or tools. Teaching fundamental dietary principles and skills that can be universally applied.

A common question asked in the intake form is to rate on a scale of 1-10, how knowledgeable are you about making smart food choices?

The answers are interesting, and often don’t match people’s real-life body composition, health, and/or performance. This doesn’t mean that people are bad, or lying.

It simply means that:

  • Many people think that they eat well, but don’t use data to test that perception against objective reality
  • No matter how much we know, it’s only what we can do CONSISTENTLY that actually matters.

Bridging the gap between what we think, feel, assume or hope for and objective, measurable reality is one of the core jobs of a coach.

Every nutrition choice you make will lead to a result. Results can be measured. Results tell us about reality. And the results tell us: What do you do next?

If you’d like some support bridging this gap, you can book a consultation, or join the upcoming Fuel Your Best 10-Week Nutrition Program, running October 14 – December 16.

The program is designed to help you build practical nutrition, movement, and lifestyle skills that you can continue using long after the 10 weeks are over.
